Welcome

Welcome

Welcome to the graphics world of JottZett. Here you will find the majority of my work with drawing pen and eraser, pencil and pastel chalk as well as painting brush - from around 50 years.

JottZett stands for Jens Zimmermann, born in Cuxhaven in 1947 and finally settled in the Aachen area. As an artist, I am self-taught. In the seventies I learned the etching technique from the renowned graphic artist Hartmut R. Berlinicke, in whose gallery in Wildeshausen in 1974 my first solo exhibition took place. Others followed:

- in the TOWN HALL of Munster (Lüneburger Heide) (1975)
- in the gallery NETTELS in Münster/Wstf. (1975)
- in the gallery v.STADEN in Delmenhorst (1976)
- in the BLACK GALLERY in Hannover (1977)
- in the gallery LÜPFERT in Hann.-Isernhagen (1978).

As a member of the Federation of Visual Artists (Bund Bildender Künstler, BBK) of Germany, there were also many exhibition participations, including 1975 at the III. Biennale Internazionale d'Arte in Trieste, Italy, where the etching "DER BLAUE" ("The Blue") was awarded, on the occasion of the Federal Press Ball in the BMVg (Federal ministry of Defense, 1974) , in the RATHAUS gallery in Berlin-Reinickendorf (1976) and in the SIUTA gallery in Bremen (from 1978). With the 1st exhibition "An der Ziegelwand" ("On the brick wall") in the TOWN HALL of Munster in 1975, a tradition was established that has been continued with changing exhibitions ever since. For the 40th anniversary, the city invited me to once again exhibit old and new “On the brick wall”. The retrospective took place over the summer of 2015.

I would like to thank you for the interest in my artistic work and hope for one or the other impulse to smile or think while browsing through the seven gallery areas.
